Has anyone seen Lights Out? It's a 2016 movie that I should have seen by now but haven't because it's horror and I can't even watch it at night which is the only time I have. I'm kinda idle right now not because I've finished reading everything in preparation for my exams in 2 weeks but because I've had tests back to back this week and I just need my brain to rest. The plan was to achieve this by seeing movies but as at the time of typing this blog post, there's only Lights Out available and the snippet I saw is really scary. The available options were either to sleep or publish a post and I decided to go for the latter and share my favourite movies of all time. The ones that have a really special place in my heart. So, let's dig in
1. My Best Friend's Wedding : A 1997 movie that I never got tired of watching and would still watch over and over again because my love for WEDDINGS has been around since forever. Made me love Julia Roberts because her character experienced such heartbreak.
2. Home Alone: Because so much adventure! I was always looking forward to what Kevin would do next. He was so naughty in a cute way and I loved how he kept dealing with the bad guys in a cool, amusing way. I'm guessing this was everyone's favourite at some point.
3. Sister's Act: Whoopi Goldberg! I don't even know exactly why this makes the list but trust me, it's a personal fave. Probably because there was so much adventure and a lot of trying to stay undercover.
4. Maid in Manhattan: Featuring Jennifer Lopez! Is there anyone who didn't love this movie? Writing this just makes me want to get hold of the movie and watch it all over again!
5. Sudden Death : I love action movies and it's only right that one makes the list. This movie was super scary and got my adrenaline pumping. Van Damme Jean Claude was the hero in this movie and he had to save himself, his two children and many other people from a bomb attack during a football game.
There are many other notable mentions like Problem Child, Big Momma's House. Did you notice that these movies are old? Well, some hormonal changes occurred, I ditched movies and developed a huge interest in books. I always say a book makes me travel and experience more adventure as I get to create pictures of places in my head! I can't wait to visit Athens, Greece where one of my favourite books was set and see if I did justice to those pictures. I'm beginning to develop more interest in movies these days tho. I guess that's a good thing.
Movie FunFacts About Me
1. I claim to love action movies but I technically haven't seen a complete Fast and Furious.
2. I haven't seen Harry Porter. Wait, I haven't even read the book. It didn't fit into the kind of book I was interested in when I had the chance to. Not sure about now.
3. Anytime I watch movies, I watch it to the very end. I mean, I watch the part showing the cast, crew and everything in between. I do this especially when it's on my phone. Reasons are unknown.
4. I'd rather watch a movie that's subtitled than one that isn't. I'm guessing this has to do with the reading part.
5. I don't dig series. Imagine falling in love with one and you have to wait months for the next season. I'd rather watch when the whole movie is done. Bye-bye Game of Thrones. Bye-bye Empire.
What's one movie fact about you?
Are you a movie or a book person? Both?
What's your current favourite movie? Mine has to be Zootopia, it's animated. Really weird cause I don't always seem to hear what they're saying.
What movie are you looking forward to seeing? I don't think I have one at the moment.
Action or Horror? Maybe both?
Which of my favourite movies have you seen and which haven't you seen?
Which is your favorite?
I'd love to hear from you! Kindly leave me your thoughts.
P.S : I'm still in that Abusive Relationship . Infact, it's gotten worse. Really frustrating but I'd be fine.
xxxx.

Aww, so sorry you're still battling with that bad boy
ReplyDeleteHehe
So am I, but we'd be fine.
I haven't had the time to see a lot of new movies unfortunately, even though there was a time in my life I watched one new movie every day I woke up.
My all time favorites would be all Tyler Perry movies, especially For Colored Girls, and I Can Do Bad All By Myself
I never get tired of watching those two, and I always shed a tear or two.
Lol
The last movie I saw was With This Ring, such profound message in it about not waiting for anything outside of you to change for you to experience true happiness with your life.
I should see at least one new movie this weekend -- I hope.
Happy Friday, Ola!
I love Tyler Perry's
DeleteSingle moms club.
With this ring
sounds like
something I'd enjoy.
Thanks for reading

Yasss, I love Sister's Act. I haven't watched the Harry Potter movies or read the books either! I'm more of a book person really but I do love a good movie (preferably a romcom lol). I'm really looking forward to seeing the Beauty and the Beast next year, I love everything Disney! I find it really hard to pick a favourite movie but I really liked Love Jones (I'm sure you'll like it too). Aww you don't like series? I'm more of a series person than a movie person, I love the continuity of a series but you're right. Waiting between seasons can be quite annoying.Which is why most times I go for series that have ended or have more than 3 seasons out so I can binge watch. And I never do horror, I can't take it. Wow this was such a fun post Laitan, I think I'm going to do something similar on my blog (I'll give you a shoutout of course), thanks for sharing. xx

post.
Home alone is my all-favorite. My number 1! Like I can never get tired of seeing it over and over again. It brings me back memories of Xmas and we're just about that season now. I love to see movies but definitely not war movies. Lol scares the hell outta me.

I am a movie girl, I love movies. I love tv shows too but I get what you mean, waiting for the nest season can be so though. The true pain is when you really love a show and it gets cancelled, not funny.
ReplyDeleteI like action and comedy. I can't believe you haven't watch a complete fast and furious. Home alone was me and my brothers favorite as a kid. I like Sister's Act and Maid in Manhattan too.
I don't have a current favorite movie but I lot of movies to catch up on.
Really cool post. Have lovely weekend :)

My Go-To Dress

No Harry Potter, no fast and furious, no Game of thrones, so basically you really don't know who Harry Potter is? Or what Paul Walker was really like, or how powerful John Snow is going to be?? No Sir, I do not want to be you rn, no offense. Nice post btw. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm not really into movies not sure why. I'd rather have a book in my hands but if I badly need to watch one, it has to be subtitled. It's like I literally can't hear what they are saying if it's not subtitled. This is one of the reasons I can't watch the Christmas channel even though I'm in the Christmas mood. Anyway, I haven't seen Harry Potter either and it's a big thing here and everyone gets this look on their faces when they find out I haven't but I've been forbidden to watch or even read it so...... I really want to see Mrs peregrines home for special children or something like that. It's been on my mind since I saw the trailer but alas, no time. I havent seen fast and furious either. Its just too long. I feel ill get bored.Love all your posts
ReplyDeleteHome alone is an all time favourite, I watch it every Christmas and anytime I can sneak it in during the year. I lurr-hv maid in Manhattan and I'm down for any Tyler Perry movie. I'm absolutely looking forward to The wedding party (I'm a sucker for love). Well, I'm a book and movie person more of book though...
ReplyDeleteOMG I just had to comment because I haven't watched Harry Potter too. I only read little of the book once. I woulda thought I was alone. Glad I have a mate. I also watch movies from the very beginning to the end. No fast forwarding. I just know that I like any movie with Denzel Washington in it. The new crop of Nollywood movies are faves too
ReplyDeleteDeadpool was my film for 2016... Then I went to look for this Indian film of 2010, 3 IDIOTS...
ReplyDeleteOla, that Indian film is the bomb.. One of my best films ever after Terminator 2 by Arnold Swarzinegger... Hope I got the spelling right?
Happy new year to you Ola. Wish in you the best. More power to your elbow to write more inspirational articles.
